On Sunday 8 July 2018, Auckland Transport launched a new bus network for Auckland's central suburbs. Most services changed, including bus routes, route numbers, timetables and some bus stops.
Information on initiatives we are working on to make Meadowbank and St Johns more inclusive communities, better connected, make better use of our under-utilised public spaces and reduce social isolation, among other lofty aims. This would have huge benefits in natural disasters and other emergency situations, as well as improving the mental health of our suburbs residents.

Housing NZ doubled the density of its original Special Housing Area plans, and has consent to build 11 apartments on the sites of 9-11 Purewa Rd. There will be three 3-story buildings and one duplex on the site.
A plan for a new, fit-for-purpose community centre that better meets the needs of communities in Meadowbank, Remuera and surrounding suburbs has been put into action by Ōrākei Local Board.
In July 2015, Summerset announced that they’d secured a 127 year lease on the land adjoining St Johns Theological College, known as Parson’s Paddock. It is to become a retirement village.
