Today Waiatarua Reserve is New Zealand’s largest urban wetland, but did you know it was once a lake used for swimming and sailing? Join us on October 11 for an event as part of Auckland Heritage Festival and together we’ll discover physical remnants and photos from its history.
Date: Sunday 11 October, 2015
Time: 2pm – 3.30pm
Location: Meet at the Towle Place entrance to Waiatarua Reserve
More info: This is a kid-friendly and dog-friendly event. Much of Waiatarua Reserve is an off-leash dog park, with a flat 3km gravel walking track loop. It also has wetlands with native bush and birds. We’ve organised a scavenger hunt to entertain the kids. Gumboots recommended in wet weather!
